Hi, I’m Areej. 

 

 

WHERE I'M FROM 

 

I was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and raised in Toronto, Canada. Blending Pakistani and Indian roots, I'm the epitome of a first-gen, third-culture kid. Growing up, I was that artsy kid who effortlessly juggled creativity with a penchant for numbers. 

 

 

WHAT I USED TO DO

 

I got a business degree and dabbled in a couple of startups that fizzled out. I took a brief detour into the fashion scene that left me feeling out of place. Then a PR internship where I learned a lot but found myself yearning for meaningful work. Cue to the lightbulb moment: co-founding a tech startup that threw me headfirst into the design world. Enrolling in a UX and UI bootcamp was like finding my true north— I never looked back.

Today, I’m based in Buffalo, New York and when I'm not applying to design roles, you can catch me diving into new experiences, at the gym, and strolling through art galleries.
